It's Been A LOOOOONNNNGGGG Time

Wow! Has it really been since September since I posted to my blog?

We have been having a tremendous amount of trouble with M. I know that he's a pre-teen and that trouble tends to come with that age group, but this was way beyond normal pre-teen issues. It's been a long, hard five months since my last post and along the way I have questioned many, many times how in heaven's name the good Lord could have thought that I could actually parent this child successfully. My sister-in-law says that he was given to me because he's almost reached the age of 12 and he's still breathing, despite all of the troubles that we have gone through. It's been a really long and tough road with him, but he is doing better (finally) and I believe that I have assembled a great team to work with me and with him. It's so nice to finally see that light at the end of tunnel and to know that all of the choices that MJ and I have made since last summer, really, have been the right ones and that we are all headed in the right direction.

As you can imagine, alot of things fell by the wayside, including stitching and my blog. Work on the HAED has pretty much come to a halt because it was just too big and overwhelming to think about, let alone work on. On Christmas Day, for the first time in months, I had the stitching itch again, but I needed something easier to work on. So, I pulled out this:

The Nativity, by Blackberry Lanes designs. I thought it was a great piece to start on Christmas Day. It's 28 count tea dyed fabric with floss that is called Swamp Water. I know that I've said this before, but I have to say again that I love that name. You would never think that something with the name of Swamp Water could be pretty, but this is. I keep telling myself that I need to get back to the HAED, but I love working in this piece. I can't seem to put it down. It's actually a little over half way done already, so it's working up pretty quickly.

Now that I have gotten myself back into my stitching groove I hope that I will continue with my blogging groove as well. I enjoy having this forum to show off my talents.

Oh Pam, It is so so nice to see you back on your blog. I have thought of you often and often thought of sending an email off to you and here it is March. I am glad that life is becoming somewhat easier than that of the past few months. Nothing quite like kids eh? especially when they are our own... I hope you take special care of you and that you are beginning to enjoy the time you spend stitching again.
Be always in stitches.

Hey Pam! Good to see you blogging. I saw your Nativity in person and it is stunning. Hope all is well and see you at Lazy Daisy. :)

Having raised a challenging son, I feel for you. Just keep telling yourself you're doing the best job you know how. And if all else fails, there's always professional help.
