A Book, Some Ornaments, and a Giveaway!

This is my 100th post! To celebrate, I have decided to have a giveaway, but there will be more on that later.

I just finished a GREAT book. I have a neighbor who loves to read like I do, and we have very similar tastes in books. She lent me "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It takes place in 12th century England. In the beginning introduces several groups of characters and as the book goes on, you see how all of these characters and their lives intertwine with each other. It was slow in the beginning, but as I got more into it, it was one of those books that I had a really hard time putting down. The neighbor who lent it to me told me that there is a sequel to it! She is reading that right now, and promised that I could borrow it when she is done with it. Hurray! A new book to read!

I have not gotten a great deal of stitching done this week. A few stitches here, a few stitches there, but not much more than that. The reason? I had four ornaments that I needed to finish and the fact that I was avoiding it kept nagging at me. I even had gone out earlier this week to buy the backing fabric for them, and then conveniently just left the fabric sitting on the dining room table. Well, Friday was finally the day that I sat down to get them done. Four new ornaments, which brings my total so far to nine! That's the most I've ever done for one Christmas, in case that should interest anyone.

Are you still with me? Good, because if you made it this far, you have gotten to the giveaway part of this post. To celebrate my 100th post in the blog world I am giving - what else? - an ornament! Meet Noel:

If you want to be in the running for this ornament, I need the following:
1. Leave a comment on THIS post with your e-mail address so that I can contact the winner;
2. Tell a friend about my giveaway and my blog.
I will have my DH pick a winner on Monday, November 9 and I will post the name of the winner.

Oh, I loved those books! Just finished them a few months ago. Have you read any of Edward Rutherford's? His are similar to Follett's.

Beautiful ornaments! I am so bad about not finishing in a timely manner.

Love to win Noel...enter me please!
Honestly, Pam, I don't know how you can give any of them away! I love each and every one of them! All of the recipients will be thrilled. I would love to have a chance to win your lovely ornament and I'll tell someone, I promise. Do I HAVE to post it on my blog? That's telling too many people! LOL!

100 posts! Congratulations.

All your ornaments look fabulous.

I haven't read the book you mentioned and will have to check it out. When I need a change from my usually mystery novels I read historical novels.

I would love to be included in your giveaway.

Hi Pam, I have the perfect tree for stitchy ornaments. The only type of ornaments on the tree other than tiny lights. As far as the reading, that is out of my forte since it would appear that the only thing I read are stitching graphs, and blogs. lol
Be always in stitches.
