Works in Progress

Sometimes I find it amazing that I get time to stitch during the day. Sometimes at night after I get the kids to bed I'm just too tired to pick up my needle. Then there are days when the time to stitch just drops into my lap. Yesterday was a good example. Z wanted to play on the computer. I don't like to leave him alone when he's on the computer, but at the same time he knows how to play a few games well enough that he does not need me hovering over him. My solution? He plays on the computer and I sit on the couch next to him and stitch. He feels like he's a "big boy" because he gets to play and I get to keep an eye on him and do my stitching at the same time. It's a mother's dream!

This is what I was working on while little man played. It's called "The Anniversary" and it's by My Big Toe. MJ's brother is getting married next year and I thought it would make a lovely wedding sampler. I've become good friends with my future SIL and I consider myself lucky that I have two sisters-in-law that I really can consider a friend. My future SIL's favorite is purple, so those were the colors that I went with. It's almost done. I have to finish the border that I started, then there is another border of squigly things, and one more row of single stitches all the way around.

I don't know about you, but I have MANY things that I've started in my stitching bag. It's the dreaded disease that is commonly called "Start-itis". It means that I just keep starting things and I haven't finished what I've already started. The wedding piece is getting alot of stitching time lately, but I took this one out the other day so it could see the light of day:

This is my personalized sampler by Nouveau Encore Designs. Yes, that's another panda in there. If you follow this blog, I have a feeling that you will be seeing quite a few of them as we go along. I have them everywhere in my house and I have quite a few to stitch. Anyway, back to my sampler. It's BIG. The chart is 20 pages long and it has on it so many of the things that are important to me. Motifs for my stitching, books because I love to read, cooking utensils because I'm a really good cook, music notes, quilt blocks, things that make me me!

I'm not sure why those pictures are not posting the right way. They were rotated the right way when I uploaded them and I can't seem to figure out how to rotate them. I'll have to keep working on that. I guess this is one of the bugs that I have to work out here.
