Now that summer vacation is half way over it's time to start to think about the new school year - at least I think it is. My kids? Well, they would prefer not to have to think about it at all. For some kids a new school year mean a whole new look. For M, this new school year not only means a whole new school but a new set of eyes:

M is now sporting glasses! Please excuse that mop top hair do. He is in need of a hair cut in a bad way. Personally, I think they make him look quite scholarly, and little grown up, too. At least now when he heads off the middle school he will be confident that he will be able to see the boards clearly.

A few weeks ago I made an effort to clean out my stitching bags. Seems like whenever I wasn't sure what to do with something I wound up in one of my bags. They were a mess. It took me the better part of an hour to go through my two bags. What I finally wound up doing was putting the projects that I had already started in one bag, and the things that I had kitted up, but not yet started, in another bag.

I've never been good with having too many projects started at once. When there is too much for me to pick from to work on I can't seem to decide which one to choose, so I wind up working on nothing. I decided that I would try to finish, or at least make some decent progress on, the things I have started, which include the HAED, the Disney kit, and Love:

I took this out of my bag so it could see the light of day since it has not been worked on for a while. I liked the look of this one when I bought it, but it just has not been my favorite to work on. I'm not sure why. But I am going to try to get some stitching done on it, and hopefully, I will have it finished before long.

While we're on the topic of finishing I have one to show off:

The Handblessings piece was a quick stitch. Excuse the bad picture. I took it in to the LNS to get it framed when I remembered that I had no picture of it so I took this one on my phone and the lighting wasn't very good, nor was my angle. I'll get a better one when I get it back from the framers.
On a very sad note, some of you may remember the angel that I stitched for MJ's Aunt Janet. She used to stitch, but she was getting older and suffered from diabetes and neuropathy, so between her eyes and her hands she had to stop stitching. Anyway, since she knew no one else who stitched she gave me all of her stitching supplies and in the box was this one kit by Dimensions. She had said that of all the things in the box that was the one that she wished she could have finished. So I made it for her and gave it to her for her birthday. She had been in the hospital for the last three weeks, and at one point it looked like she was going to get better. But, then last week she took a turn for the worse. My MIL called me this morning to let us know that Aunt Janet passed away last night. It's a sad day for our family.

Something to be said about straightening out our stitching bags...and when I think of it I will let you know. I am sure that the sadness of your Aunt passing will soon be happy memories. You are in my thoughts.
Be always in stitches.
I'm so sorry for you loss, Pam. I'm sure your Aunt Janet loved and appreciated the angel you stitched for her.

M looks like quite the handsome young man!
