And The Mystery Motif Is...

In my last post I asked if anyone could guess what the motif would be that goes above my initials in the sampler. I had a few guesses, most of which were a panda. While that was a really good guess, it's not correct. The mystery motif is (drum roll, please)....

Dart Vader!!!!!
When I ordered my sampler Z was going through his Star Wars phase (he takes after his mother, after all!) and we would watch a Star Wars movie at least once a day, so when I was going through the process of picking what I absolutely had to have on my sampler Star Wars was right up there at the top of my list right next to my furry black and white friend. I saw the R2D2 and Vader motifs on another sampler that Nouveau Encore Designs did and asked for them to be put into mine as well. I am happy to report that I am about two thirds of the way done with page 19. I'm getting my dancing shoes ready for the big happy dance of joy I will be doing when this baby is done. I wanted to take a picture, but my camera battery died after I took the Vader motif picture, so an updated photo will have to wait until next time.
I have not gotten a whole lot of stitching done in the last few days, though, because I discovered that the new book by Phillipa Gregory, called "The White Queen", was out, which made a trip to the local book store a really important thing to do. Once I get really into a book I can finish it in a few days, so now that the book has been read and lent to my neighbor I can get back to my stitching.
Less than two weeks until school starts here, and today is a rainy, lazy day. I told the kids that they could be "pajama boys" today, which is something that they love to do, and something we really have not done alot of this summer. M asked if we could get back to the beach one more time before the summer ends, so I may try to do that with them next week.
I guess I need to get back to the laundry, although I would really much rather stay here on the computer and get sucked into a few games of Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook. I have just discovered this game and I am totally addicted. M likes to play it, too. Maybe I'll just play one game.
See ya!

Oh my gosh - how cool is that! What a great thing to put into your piece. It will make you smile in years to come to see Darth and remember that phase of your son's life!!

Oh, Darth is so cute Deb! I remember when my sons were total Star Wars addicts, too. It is so hard to choose between reading a book and stitching isn't it? Here's a tip--listen to audio books (available at your library!) while you stitch. Really works out well :)

Love the mystery design. I also just love how you have made this piece uniquely yours. Awesome. I can't wait to see the final finish. I'll be happy dancing for you. :)

I wondered if it was going to be a Star Wars something or other....LOVE it! May the floss be with you.
This will be a work of art for your family to enjoy for many years. Unique and elegant with a piece of everyone involved. Great job Pam, be always is stitches.

Hey Pam...I have not read blogs in a while and don't have time to read much right now, but I saw this in the 123stitch board and wanted to make sure you saw it too. I thought I had your email but apparently I don't, so I'm interrupting you blog entry! LOL It's the panda cam at the San Diego Zoo with a mamma and new baby panda! It is SO cute!
