Slow Stitching

It's been a while since I posted to my blog, but I have not had alot to work to show. I went to the doctor for a routine physical a few weeks ago. I had not been feeling great, but everything that I was feeling was not things that I had never dealt with before, so I didn't think anything of it. Turns out I have been diagnosed as having Lyme's Disease! So, I am now on a three week course of antibiotics, then when that is done I have to go back to the doctor for more blood work. I'm going to be a pin cushion by the time this is over.

Since one of the symptoms of Lyme's Disease is extreme fatigue, I have not gotten alot of stitching done because I have been falling asleep on the couch as soon as I get the kids into bed. Or, on some nights, before they get into bed! LOL!! That's not good.

Now that I have been on the medication for about a week and a half I am starting to feel bit better and I did manage to get some stitching done in the last few days:


I was not loving this project when I first started it. The finished project looks great, but I was not enjoying working on it. As I have worked on it for the last few days, though, I have found that I have been enjoying it more and more. So, now all I need is an L and an E, and I will have LOVE!

The kids are on spring break this week and this is the first day that the sun has been out. Monday and Tuesday were like monsoon season here, and even though the rain had let up a lot by Wednesday, it was still very gray and damp. This morning I was blue sky and the sun shining. It was a nice thing to see.

I am so sorry to hear about the bout of Lymes. :( I've had it too and I sympathize. You will get your energy back soon. And the sun should help.

Love the new piece. hey, you are halfway done! :)

Happy Easter to you and yours. Hope the Easter bunny brings lots of yummy chocolate.

I hadn't heard of Lyme's disease before, but that's no good. I hope the antibiotics continue to help.

A Book, Some Ornaments, and a Giveaway!

This is my 100th post! To celebrate, I have decided to have a giveaway, but there will be more on that later. I just finished a GREAT book. I have a neighbor who loves to read like I do, and we have very similar tastes in books. She lent me "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It takes place in 12th century England. In the beginning introduces several groups of characters and as the book goes on, you see how all of these characters and their lives intertwine with each other. It was slow in the beginning, but as I got more into it, it was one of those books that I had a really hard time putting down. The neighbor who lent it to me told me that there is a sequel to it! She is reading that right now, and promised that I could borrow it when she is done with it. Hurray! A new book to read! I have not gotten a great deal of stitching done this week. First Finish Of The Year

I finished Home Of A Needleworker the other day and since I knew that I was going to finish it as a wall hanging I had to make a trip to Joanne Fabrics in the hope of finding something that I thought would work. I don't know about you, but sometimes I got to look for fabric for a certain project, and I have something in my mind, but I can never seem to find what I see in my mind's eye. I end up roaming around the store, endlessly looking for something that apparently does not exist. For this one, though, I really didn't have any idea what kind of fabric that I wanted. The color green kept leaping to mind, but I was not really sure about it. So, I took the finished stitched piece with me so I could hold it up against any fabric that I thought might catch my eye. I was in the store all of five minutes when I came across this brown and blue fabric and I just could not believe my eyes! It was perfect!! Welcome To My Blog!

Welcome to My Stitchalong! As you may guess from the title, I am a stitcher. Cross stitching mostly, but I also do a little quilting and some crocheting. I was encouraged to start this blog by my cousin's wife (a big shout out to Sarah!!) so here I am. I'm a stay at home wife and mom to one husband and two active boys. Running after two boys during the day and taking them both here and there leaves me wanting something for myself, so my stitching comes in quite handy. I've turned my stitching into lots of things: pillows, wall hangings, quilts. This is my journey through my life as a wife, mom, and stitcher. This is a project that I finished over the summer. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to make it into: a wall hanging for my master bedroom. It's one of my favorite finishes that I've done.
