Pictures of Progress

I finally got around to taking pictures of some of my works in progress. I am happy to report a finish:

I finished "Not Tonight Dear..." not long after coming back from vacation. It's been washed and pressed and now I just have to take it to the framers and figure out where in the bedroom to hang it!

I love this one!!
This is the one called "Chocolate Awareness". It's a small project so it's working up quickly and it's the perfect project to take with me when Z has gymnastics. I've been primarily working on it there since it's small and easy to take with me. The colors in the floss really are chocolatey. I can't wait to see it when it's all finished.
This is how far I've gotten on my personalized sampler. Last week I finished pages 7 and 8 and I just started page 9 the other day. I'm almost halfway done!

I'm really happy with the progress that I've made on it. It's coming along really nicely.

It's Fall!!

The calendar has turned to September.  The weather has (finally) turned cooler, the kids are back to school, and we're enjoying cool night outside by the fire pit.  It's a busy time of year for all of us.  My stitching hands have been busy, too! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about how I'm finishing the mandala panda. Stitching is complete!  See what happens when I stick to working on one project?  I actually get something finished!  In truth, I loved this piece.  It was a true joy to work on.  It has been sent off to a friend, who is fabulous with a sewing machine, and she will be creating a tote bag with my panda as the center of the creation!!  I can't wait to see what she comes up with! My oldest WIP is a WIP no more!!  If my mom were here she would be so proud.  I was probably 19...20 when I bought it. Happy Dance of Sampler Joy!!

Anyone want to put on their happy dance shoes and join me? I finished my sampler this afternoon: It's not washed or ironed yet, and it will be awhile until I get it framed because it's so big. I know exactly where I want to put it, too. There is a perfect spot in the dining room where everyone will be able to see it. Talk about excited!! I am so happy to finally finishe this piece. I remember when I started it, thinking that 20 pages seemed so long. I still does, to be honest, but I guess when you compare it to the 69 page HAED, the 20 page sampler was a cake walk! When you first start something like this I guess you feel like you will never get to the end, or at least that is how I felt about it. But look at me now? One HUGE project done and out of my stitching bag! Now I plan on finished the LHN piece that I have started and then I think I will start some Christmas ornaments. I'm moving right along. A Quiet Sunday

Yesterday we had the joy of going to watch our niece swim in a meet at a local university.  We were up and out early, and with a quick stop at Starbucks to fuel our morning, we were off!  It was great to watch her compete and spend the day with her family.  I worked last night, which is a rare thing for me on a Saturday night, so it was a long day.  Today we're keeping it quiet.  Z has homework to finish, MJ is streaming something on Netflix, and after baking, doing laundry, and vacuuming the house, I am stitching.  My usual stitching spot gets cold and drafty in the winter at times, so I bought myself a birthday present: a new Ott Light, and I created a second stitching space for myself.
