Pictures of Progress

I finally got around to taking pictures of some of my works in progress. I am happy to report a finish:

I finished "Not Tonight Dear..." not long after coming back from vacation. It's been washed and pressed and now I just have to take it to the framers and figure out where in the bedroom to hang it!

I love this one!!
This is the one called "Chocolate Awareness". It's a small project so it's working up quickly and it's the perfect project to take with me when Z has gymnastics. I've been primarily working on it there since it's small and easy to take with me. The colors in the floss really are chocolatey. I can't wait to see it when it's all finished.
This is how far I've gotten on my personalized sampler. Last week I finished pages 7 and 8 and I just started page 9 the other day. I'm almost halfway done!

I'm really happy with the progress that I've made on it. It's coming along really nicely.

It's Fall!!

The calendar has turned to September.  The weather has (finally) turned cooler, the kids are back to school, and we're enjoying cool night outside by the fire pit.  It's a busy time of year for all of us.  My stitching hands have been busy, too! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about how I'm finishing the mandala panda. Stitching is complete!  See what happens when I stick to working on one project?  I actually get something finished!  In truth, I loved this piece.  It was a true joy to work on.  It has been sent off to a friend, who is fabulous with a sewing machine, and she will be creating a tote bag with my panda as the center of the creation!!  I can't wait to see what she comes up with! My oldest WIP is a WIP no more!!  If my mom were here she would be so proud.  I was probably 19...20 when I bought it. Welcome To My Blog!

Welcome to My Stitchalong! As you may guess from the title, I am a stitcher. Cross stitching mostly, but I also do a little quilting and some crocheting. I was encouraged to start this blog by my cousin's wife (a big shout out to Sarah!!) so here I am. I'm a stay at home wife and mom to one husband and two active boys. Running after two boys during the day and taking them both here and there leaves me wanting something for myself, so my stitching comes in quite handy. I've turned my stitching into lots of things: pillows, wall hangings, quilts. This is my journey through my life as a wife, mom, and stitcher. This is a project that I finished over the summer. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to make it into: a wall hanging for my master bedroom. It's one of my favorite finishes that I've done.

A Book, Some Ornaments, and a Giveaway!

This is my 100th post! To celebrate, I have decided to have a giveaway, but there will be more on that later. I just finished a GREAT book. I have a neighbor who loves to read like I do, and we have very similar tastes in books. She lent me "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It takes place in 12th century England. In the beginning introduces several groups of characters and as the book goes on, you see how all of these characters and their lives intertwine with each other. It was slow in the beginning, but as I got more into it, it was one of those books that I had a really hard time putting down. The neighbor who lent it to me told me that there is a sequel to it! She is reading that right now, and promised that I could borrow it when she is done with it. Hurray! A new book to read! I have not gotten a great deal of stitching done this week. A few stitches here, a few stitches there, but not much more than that. The reason? I had four ornaments that I needed...
