So Excited!!

This weekend MJ, the kids, and I went to visit my cousin, Anthony, his wife, Sarah, and their kids. Sarah and I e-mail back and forth a bit and we follow each others blogs, so I cdonsider her a friend. It was their son's third birthday and we were invited up for the party. I am so glad that I went. I got to see family that I have not seen in a while and it was so nice to sit and catch up with everyone. As we were leaving the party to head back to our hotel Sarah and Anthony said that they had something to show me. In their garage they had these two tables. Sarah told me that they were both sewing machines that had belonged to my grandmother, who passed away a few years ago. Anthony said that neither one of them worked, but that if I wanted one of them, he could tinker with it to make it run, clean it up so it looks nice, and bring it down to me. I was so happy!!!!! I can't wait to get it. I told MJ that we had to find a place to put it because I definitely want it. How cool is that??

This morning before we left we all met for breakfast at Denny's. We don't have Denny's on Long Island, so whenever we are away and see one, that it where I want to have breakfast. All it all, it was a good weekend. I was so glad that I went.

I have no pictures of it yet, but I started the HAED on Friday. Right now, it's pretty much just a blue blob on the upper left hand corner. I think I'm going to need glasses by the time this one is finished! Stitching over one is not as hard as I thought it would be, either, so I'm happy about that.

Well, I have to get fold that laundry that's been sitting here for a few days, and wash the laundry that has piled up. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Awesome! look forward to seeing pictures of them.

I am like that about Waffle House we do not have them out here on the west coast and I have to say I miss WH alot LOL When we were living in South Carolina that was our wednesday morning ritiual.

A Book, Some Ornaments, and a Giveaway!

This is my 100th post! To celebrate, I have decided to have a giveaway, but there will be more on that later. I just finished a GREAT book. I have a neighbor who loves to read like I do, and we have very similar tastes in books. She lent me "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It takes place in 12th century England. In the beginning introduces several groups of characters and as the book goes on, you see how all of these characters and their lives intertwine with each other. It was slow in the beginning, but as I got more into it, it was one of those books that I had a really hard time putting down. The neighbor who lent it to me told me that there is a sequel to it! She is reading that right now, and promised that I could borrow it when she is done with it. Hurray! A new book to read! I have not gotten a great deal of stitching done this week. A Quiet Sunday

Yesterday we had the joy of going to watch our niece swim in a meet at a local university.  We were up and out early, and with a quick stop at Starbucks to fuel our morning, we were off!  It was great to watch her compete and spend the day with her family.  I worked last night, which is a rare thing for me on a Saturday night, so it was a long day.  Today we're keeping it quiet.  Z has homework to finish, MJ is streaming something on Netflix, and after baking, doing laundry, and vacuuming the house, I am stitching.  My usual stitching spot gets cold and drafty in the winter at times, so I bought myself a birthday present: a new Ott Light, and I created a second stitching space for myself. And The Cake Was...

I guess I'm really predictable because someone guessed that my birthday cake was a panda. Hmmm! How did you ever figure that out?? This must be a guy thing because my husband, my oldest son, and my friend's husband all asked me the same thing: are you going to cut the head off first? That poor bear. But he was really tasty! Me, next to the cake: This is my uncle (my later dad's brother) and I was really happy that he, his wife, Debbie, and my Aunt Rosalie (who I did not get a picture of!) were there for the party. They live about 4 hours away, so it was a hike for them to get here, but they came to see me and I was thrilled! This weekend Lazy Daisy is having a Superbowl Sale on Saturday and I was supposed to get together with three of my friends and go shopping there.
