Kermit Came To Visit Me

Well, it probably really wasn't Kermit the Frog, because I know Kermit would not cause the trouble that this little frog did! Work on the HAED has come to a screeching halt, thanks to the one who says "Ribbit!" The kids were playing this afternoon, so I thought I would take advantage of the momentary quiet to put in a few stitches. I noticed that the color blue that I'm using just doesn't look quite right. The color is not flowing from the previous page like the other colors were flowing. I first noticed it the other day, but just thought I was being paranoid. Today I noticed it again and decided to take a closer look at the color key. Turns out there are two symbols on the key that are quite similar and apparently I was using the color from the wrong symbol. I spent an hour and a half this afternoon ripping out stitching that I had been putting in since Sunday! And along the way I discovered that ripping out stitches when you are stitching over one is a real pain! MJ called me to ask me a question in the middle of the rip out session and questioned my surly answers on the phone. I explained to him what had happened and quietly said, "Now do you understand the bad mood?" For some reason he wanted to get off the phone really quickly after that. Can't imagine why when he's married to me, a giant ray of sunshine! So, I have no updated of the HAED just yet. I was hoping to finished page 2 this week and then show off my progress, but it looks like progress is going to have to wait a bit.

MJ and his brother are Met fans. I know, I know. I'm a BIG Yankees fan and I'm married to a Met fan? It makes for some pretty interesting conversations here at our house during baseball season, especially when one team is doing much better than the other. Anyway, we bought for MJ's brother tickets to see a game at the new stadium over this past weekend. We had such a good time. It was the two of us, my BIL and future SIL. If anyone gets to go there, go get shakes from the Shake Shack. They were really yummy, but go early because the line gets way out of control!

This is MJ and me after the game was over. We had seats right along the right field line. We even had a foul ball come close to us!

My sister is up from Texas this week with her husband and their daughter. Things have not been good between my sister and me since my parents died nine years ago. It has gotten better a little bit, but our relationship is not what it once was. When she told me that she was coming to see her FIL I said to let me know if they had a free night and I would make dinner. They came last night. Now, the last time I saw her was four years ago, so it's been a while. I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say that we had a great evening. My niece and my boys played great the whole night. I made an easy dinner on the grill that everyone liked. I was really happy at the end of the night that it went so well. I went inside the house to get something and when I came back out MJ and my BIL were talking about taking a vacation to Disney World together. We'll have to see about that part, but it was a great night and in the end I was so glad that I invited them.

I'm so sorry about the frogs visiting you. How exasperating to have to rip that out, especially over one!!!! And that's good that your sister was able to make it over for dinner. Hopefully over time, things will smooth out between the two of you!!!

Oh.....no. That just plain STINKS...shame on that frog...but please don't send him my way! :)
Just when you think you can decifer symbols in a chart eh? HAED tend to have had similar symbols on several occassions which seem to be in the same colour family. I really think frogs belong in the garden my self but they do tend to make it into the my stitching every once in a while here too. Be always in stitches.
