When Dad Is In Charge

I finally seem to have gotten a little bit of my mojo back. I finished page 10 of the sampler and have started page 11. Woo hoo!! I'm halfway there!!

Since I'm short of stitching desire at the moment, this is a great project for me to work on because I feel like I'm making progress even if I've only stitched a few letters. It's not like a big picture where it may be hard to see I've accomplished with my stitching time.

Saturday was a really warm day here. M had a little league game in the morning. We brought the kids home and they had some lunch, then decided that they both wanted to take a walk down to Gram and Grandpa's house. So, after MJ finished his lunch he took the kids for a walk. They were back fairly relatively quickly (Gram was not feeling well and didn't want to give it to the kids) so they came back and decided that they were all going to play hockey in the driveway. I watched them play for a little while, then came back inside to do some things I needed to get done, when all of a sudden I hear both of the kids screaming. Not a bad scream, but that sound they make when they are having the time of their lives. I think to myself, "This is not from playing hockey, " and go to see what is happening. This was what I found:

Two soaking wet children having a water gun fight! It was hilarious to see them running around, squirting each other and anything else that happened to get in their way. Z had a birthday party in the late afternoon and he had to completely change his clothes because before we left. It's two days later and they are still talking about having a water gun fight. I suppose that this is what the warm weather was made for.

I started to work on the petite sampler from Blackbird Designs. As usual, I'm a little late to the party and I won't have it finished in time to enter it into their contest, but I thought that this would be a good way to get be back into my stitching mood. Pick whatever colors I like, stitch it on whatever fabric I think is pretty, and have a good time making it my own. I can control this project's destiny and I like that! Once I get it going I'll be able to post a picture.

I think that most people who did this did it over one. I started it over one, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. After only a few stitches I took it out and did it over two. I hope it comes out as nice as some of the other ones that I've seen. I don't know what it is. I've started other things over one. I've even done some practice stitching over one, but I just don't like it. Is anyone else out in blogland not a fan of "over one", or am I the only one?
